Polarizing Filters
A polarizing filter reduces excessive lunar and planetary image brightness during visual observing. This helps eliminate contrast-reducing glare and irradiation so you can see more faint details. It also makes it easier for you to split close binary stars by reducing glare and diffraction around the brighter star of the binary pair.

These polarizing filter sets consists of two individual 30% transmission polarizing filters in a special adapter for use in both Schmidt- and Maksutov-Cassegrain scopes. Reflectors and refractors generally do not have enough focuser in-travel to use these sets. By rotating one filter in the adapter, while the second remains fixed, differing degrees of glare reduction (from 5% to 25% light transmission) can be obtained, without altering the colors of the subject.
