| This durable padded black nylon soft case is designed for comfortably carrying a telescope field tripod or small telescope optical tube. Its cylindrical shape will hold equipment up to a maximum length of 38” and diameter of 10". The case includes an adjustable length padded shoulder strap, a padded handle, and two external zippered compartments for carrying small accessories. The case is designed primarily to hold the Meade standard field tripod used with Schmidt-Cassegrains up to 10” in aperture, and the Celestron heavy-duty tripod used with Schmidt-Cassegrains up to 11” in aperture. The Celestron tripod’s spreader bar must be removed before the tripod can be put in the case. One of the side accessory pockets can be unzipped and the spreader bar partially slipped inside for carrying the spreader bar with the tripod (not an ideal solution, but a workable one). The case can also be used for many small telescopes and tripod mounts, such as the Meade 102ED 4" refractor optical tube, the Meade LXD55 SN-6 6” reflector optical tube (with the finder scope placed in one of the side pockets), etc. |
