| The 2” Questar star diagonal for the 7” Questar Maksutov is a top-quality product that matches the ultra-premium quality of the 7” Questar itself. It uses a 1/20th wave first surface quartz mirror, with very high reflectivity silver mirror coatings for optimum light transmission and contrast on subtle lunar, planetary, and nebula details. It allows the use of 2” eyepieces with the 7” Questar to provide magnifications as low as 45x, with fields of view as wide as 1.1 degrees.
The diagonal threads into the Cassegrain focus opening at the rear of the 7” Questar control box. A thumbscrew in the barrel can be loosened to permit the diagonal body and eyepiece holder to rotate to the most convenient observing position.
The 2” eyepiece holder uses two non-marring nylon thumbscrews to hold 2” eyepieces in place. A slip-fit 2” to 1.25” threaded adapter can be inserted into the 2” diagonal barrel to allow the use of threaded 1.25” Brandon eyepieces. Third-party 2” to 1.25” adapters are also available to allow the use of non-Questar slip-fit 1.25” eyepieces.
