| The SBIG CFW-402 is an internal filter wheel for the SBIG ST-402ME CCD camera. It uses custom RGB+C color filters for RGB or LRGB color imaging with the ST-402ME. The filters are multi-layer vacuum-deposited dichroic interference-type filters, rather than simple dyed glass. The filters snap into the filter wheel, which in turn drops into the ST-402ME camera body after removing the front cover (a matter of only a few moments undoing four fasteners on the camera front plate).
The CFW-402 filter wheel uses the same custom designed high quality dichroic filters that SBIG developed for the ST-7/8/9/10 E and ME cameras. The filters are designed to yield a proper balance of both OIII and H-alpha planetary nebula emission line intensity while at the same time giving an accurate white balance of continuum light from solar type stars in the same field.
This filter wheel is also available prepackaged with an ST-402ME camera (#402ME2C or #402ME2CP) at a lower cost when bought with the camera than the price of the camera and filter wheel bought separately. |
