The versatile Orion 2” manually-operated multiple filter wheel provides several attachment methods to your camera and scope. T-threads on the telescope side of the filter wheel allow for a direct connection to focusers equipped with T-threads, or to a camera adapter with T-threads. If you are attaching the filter wheel to a 2” focuser that doesn’t have T-threads, or are not using a prime focus camera adapter, a supplied 2” nosepiece threads onto the telescope side of the filter wheel. This allows you to slip the filter wheel into the telescope’s 2” focuser and provide maximum field illumination to the imaging camera.

On the camera side of the filter wheel a removable T-thread ring allows you to connect the filter wheel directly to the T-threads on the camera body that are revealed when you unthread the camera’s nosepiece. Light finger pressure is all you need to manually rotate the wheel until the selected filter clicks into place.

The Orion 2” filter wheel is compatible with all 2” Orion filters, as well as with all mounted filters that have standard 2” filter threads. The filter wheel is designed for CCD imaging only. It is not equipped for visual use.

The Orion 2” multiple filter wheel also provides a convenient and secure way to store your imaging filters and helps protect them from dust and dew. The filters can be easily installed or changed by removing the wheel’s cover with the included hex key. The filter wheel requires 22mm of additional focus travel, and weighs only 14 ounces.
