| This 10mm guiding (or crosshair reticle) eyepiece is used for visually guiding long-exposure deep space astrophotographs. It allows you to use the directional controls on your telescope’s hand control to keep a guide star stationary during long exposures to avoid star trailing in your images. It provides a high magnification that is ideal for guiding. The wide 50° apparent field of view makes it easier to locate a guide star. This 5-element guiding eyepiece has a reticle pattern that has a 0.0075" double spaced line system. This type of reticle pattern allows you to position the guide star in the middle square or at the intersection of two lines, whichever is easier for you. The eyepiece optics are multicoated for increased contrast. The 8mm usable eye relief in more than adequate for guiding. An optional LED illuminator #4315 is required to light up the crosshairs so that they can be seen against the dark sky. |
