| Unlike competitive (and more costly) competitive star diagonals that can only be used in either refractors or Schmidt-Cassegrain telescopes, this very economical Celestron 2” mirror diagonal has both a 2” chrome barrel to allow it to be used in refractor telescopes with 2” focusers, and an interchangeable slip ring adapter that allows it to be threaded onto the rear cell of all Schmidt-Cassegrain telescopes. The diagonal also includes an adapter that allows the use of 1.25” eyepiece (a costly option with some competitive diagonals). The underside of the 1.25” adapter is threaded to accept 48mm filters. This allows you to buy 48mm light pollution filters for use with your 2” eyepieces as well as thread them into the base of the 1.25” adapter so the 48mm filters can also work with your 1.25” eyepieces. The body of the diagonal is fabricated from a solid metal block for durability and precise alignment of the mirror and light path. |
