| This 6.0” diameter, 12.0” high tripod extension fits G-11 and GM-8 mounts only. It mounts between the tripod legs and the equatorial head to add 12” of height to the telescope. This raises the eyepieces of long focal ratio refractors or fast focal ratio reflectors to a more comfortable observing height and helps keep the tail piece of long optical tubes from hitting the tripod legs in certain observing positions. Posts to hold the electronics are mounted on the side of the extension to raise the electronics to a more comfortable height, as well. The 6 pound 6 ounce extension is made of machined aluminum, with a black painted exterior to match the tripod and equatorial head. The mounting hardware is stainless steel. |
