| This optical coupler provides the electrical isolation required to prevent damage to Losmandy mount electronics when using the guiding outputs of SBIG ST-7/8/9/10/2000 self-guiding CCD cameras to control a Gemini go-to system or standard Losmandy electronic drive system during long exposure astrophotography. Without isolating the camera’s self-guiding electronics from the mount’s drive electronics, there is a possibility of damaging the mount’s electronics. This optical coupler serves the same function as the SBIG #RELAY adapter box, but is specific to Losmandy mounts, where as the SBIG #RELAY will work with a variety of mounts. |
