| This Losmandy machined aluminum piggyback bracket allows your 35mm or digital camera to be mounted on top of any Meade 12” catadioptric (Schmidt-Cassegrain or Advanced Coma-Free) telescope for wide-field deep space photography. Two curved machined brackets attach to the front and rear cells of your scope. A mounting rail bolts to the brackets, parallel to the optical axis of the scope. The mounting brackets are designed to fit the cell curvature and mounting bolt spacing of 12” Meade scopes only and will not work on other sizes or brands.
The camera platform of the Losmandy piggyback clamps onto the mounting rail and can be positioned anywhere along the length of the rail. The camera can be pivoted from side to side to keep the telescope barrel out of the field of view of a wide-angle camera lens, but cannot tilt up and down. There is a standard 1/4”-20 thread bolt with a hand-tighten knob in the platform to hold the camera in place. |
