The Focusmaster has a USB port (cable included) for connection to your computer. Your computer then supplies power to the Focusmaster through the USB cable, so no extra power cable or power supply is needed for the Focusmaster. There is a separate RS-232 port to connect to an optional TeleVue Digital Indicator kit using an optional RS-232 cable. In addition, there is an RJ22 port for connecting to a TeleVue Focusmate Driver, using the Driver cable that is normally used to connect the Driver to its hand control. There is also a red/green status LED on the Focusmaster.

The TVFocusPlus software provides continuous or momentary position readout on your computer screen, in a standard screen or night vision format. It lets you save preset focus positions between observing sessions, which is handy if you swap non-parfocal eyepieces or use various imaging filters that change the point of best focus. The software displays yellow and green indicators on your computer screen when you are approaching or have achieved a preset focus position, and zero reset allows you to zero the indicator at any point. The software allows continuous or momentary motor motion in both directions from your computer keyboard, as well as full control over the focus motor speed.

The system requires that you have an optional TeleVue Focusmate and Focusmate Driver installed on your telescope. Your computer operating system should be Windows 98SE/Me/NT/2000/XP or greater and your computer should have a free USB port. Recommended optional accessories include a TeleVue Digital indicator kit and a TeleVue #TVIKCAB Digital Indicator to computer RS-232 cable.
