This solid machined bronze 2" to 1.25" eyepiece adapter weighs a substantial 12 ounces. Using it in place of a lighter (4 ounce) aluminum adapter helps equalize eyepiece weights when switching between heavy 2" eyepieces and light 1.25" eyepieces. This eliminates the need to rebalance your telescope when changing eyepieces and is particularly useful with altazimuth mount refractors and low friction Dobsonians.

The adapter uses a non-marring brass clamp ring to hold 1.25" eyepieces in place. The base of the adapter is tapered to reflect incoming light harmlessly off to the side, instead of back towards the telescope objective, eliminating any need for special blackening of the underside of the adapter.
