This lightweight 20-gauge aluminum dew shield is lined with black felt to absorb both moisture and light. The exterior is metallic gray to match the tube finish of the Celestron 14" German equatorial mount CGE-1400 Schmidt-Cassegrain. It will also fit older orange tube C14s, the German equatorial mount CM1400, etc., although it will not match the tube color of these models. Its powder-coated exterior finish is baked on for long life and chip resistance. Nylon thumbscrews in heavy-duty metal inserts hold the dew shield onto the telescope optical tube.
