| This is a very good medium high to high power eyepiece (the power depends on the focal length of your scope) for resolving globular clusters, picking up detail in smaller galaxies, etc. It provides an almost ideal match of an 8" f/10 Schmidt-Cassegrain’s resolving power to the resolving power of your eye, for maximum lunar and planetary detail. It has a short eye relief that will limit the field for eyeglass wearers. Those who must wear eyeglasses while observing due to severe astigmatism would probably be better off using a Barlow and a longer focal length eyepiece with longer eye relief to reach this focal length, rather than buying this eyepiece for use on its own. This 11mm TeleVue Plössl was rated the best available in its focal length in a recent test report of 31 eyepieces in Sky & Telescope magazine.
