| This Celestron 80mm photoguide refractor is complete with 125mm mounting rings. The rings have dovetail mounts that clamp onto any Celestron CGE or Losmandy-style D-plate accessory mounting plate. Alignment pins keep the ends of the clamps parallel when sliding onto a dovetail plate to avoid binding. The spring-loaded clamps also help prevent binding of the clamp on a dovetail plate when the tightening knob is loosened. The rings have large and ergonomic knobs for easy and secure attachment, even in the dark. Nylon tips on the three adjustment screws in each ring won't mar the finish on the guidescope.
Optional accessory mounting plates (shown below) are available for installation on any Celestron 8" through 14" optical tube. The rings will also mount directly on the D-plates supplied with Astro-Tech 10" and 12" Ritchey-Chrétien astrographs, as well as any other D-plate equipped optical tube.
The Celestron 80mm aperture 600mm focal length (f/7.5) photoguide is compatible with an optional Celestron NexGuide autoguider and includes an extension tube to help you reach focus without having to use a star diagonal in the refractor body. A standard M42 T-thread on the extension tube allows you to slide the optional NexGuide autoguider barrel into the extension tube or thread the guider (with 1.25" nosepiece removed) directly onto the extension tube.
The achromatic photoguide itself has a 1.25" metal focuser with a tension screw to minimize mechanical "play" when focusing, making it easier to keep your guide star on the guider chip.
