The small eyeguard is removed from the eyepiece and the metal adapter ring is firmly attached to the top of the eyepiece. A supplied hex wrench lets you tighten the setscrew in the side of the adapter ring into the groove at the top of the eyepiece that held the rubber eyeguard in place. Once the adapter ring is installed, the new larger supplied rubber eyeguard is slipped onto the adapter ring, or a Dioptrx lens is first attached to the adapter ring and the rubber eyeguard is in turn slipped onto the Dioptrx lens.

When used with binoviewers, you may encounter “nose relief" limitations because the Dioptrx lenses reduce the normal eyepiece eye relief by an amount equal to the depth of the Dioptrx lens.
