This Astrozap dew shield is made of lightweight and durable welded-seam aluminum. The interior is felt-lined to help absorb moisture. The exterior is painted a light gray to match the finish of your LXD-75 Schmidt-Newtonian. Heavy duty threaded inserts and nylon thumbscrews mount the dew shield on the die-cast rim that holds the corrector plate. The thumbscrews engage the groove around the outside of the rim, assuring a secure no-tool fit.

In addition to retarding the formation of dew on your optics, thereby extending your undisturbed observing time, the Astrozap dew shield improves your viewing by preventing extraneous light from reaching the Schmidt-Newtonian optics to visibly increase the image contrast.
