| The rigid foam in this hard case is designed to hold and transport the 9¼" Celestron CPC925 and 11" Celestron CPC1100. The case is physically imposing, but weighs only 36 pounds, light for its size. Its outside dimensions are 26.75" x 25" x 42", including handles. The shipping weight is approximately 44 pounds. However, due to its physical size, the freight companies consider it to be an oversize carton and charge for shipping as if it actually weighed 70 lbs. The foam of the case is precut to hold finderscope, eyepieces, and assorted other accessories, as well as the scope. The finderscope in its factory-supplied quick release bracket must be removed from the scope and placed in a cutout in the foam of the case before the scope itself can be put in the case. Heavy gauge vinyl pouches are supplied to protect the finderscope and computer hand control (which fits into a separate cutout in the case foam) during transport. The case has four locking latches, and three steel-reinforced carrying handles. Two people are needed to carry the scope, but it comes equipped with big 10" diameter wheels that make it easy for one person to roll the scope and case from place to place. Not inexpensive, but it offers the best travel protection around for your expensive Celestron scope. The peace of mind of knowing your scope is traveling safely is surely worth the expense.
