This equatorial wedge will let you upgrade your Celestron NexStar 6SE or 8SE to do long exposure astrophotography. The wedge fits between the base of the scope and the standard equipment altazimuth tripod supplied with these scopes. The die-cast and machined aluminum wedge has built-in azimuth and altitude adjustment controls for easy and precise polar alignment over a 25° to 90° latitude range. It lets you use your scope in an altazimuth mode (when set for 90° latitude) without having to remove the wedge from the tripod. There is a latitude scale on one leg of the wedge for quick polar alignments in the field. The wedge also works with the Celestron NexStar 5i or 8i, but requires an optional heavy duty tripod in order to be used with these scopes. The wedge weighs 8 lbs.
