| This case is usable with the Meade 10" LX200 (both GPS and non-GPS versions) and the LX200R, as well as older 10" Meade telescopes. The following fork-mounted telescopes should also fit inside the case with a small amount of space between the fork arms and the foam: the Meade 2120, 10" LX3/LX5/LX6/Premier Series/LX50, and the Celestron Ultima 9.25". Some small cuts in the foam may be needed for the fork arms and/or control panel with these non-LX200 scopes. The exterior includes four lockable latches, three steel-reinforced handles, a single and very durable 3" wide by 28" long steel piano hinge for the lid, and a pair of wheels at one end for more easily transporting the scope. The case can be carried or pulled using the attached wheels. Inside, the die-cut foam lining is precisely sized and cut to hold a 10" LX200 telescope as securely as possible. There are compartments for the telescope, eyepieces, and other accessories. The finderscope in its quick-release bracket must be removed from the telescope and placed in a special vinyl cover included with the case, then stored in its own separate die-cut compartment within the case. The outside dimensions of the case are 36.5" x 24.75" x 16.7" (subject to slight changes). Its empty weight is approximately 28.5 lbs. The shipping weight is approximately 37 lbs. However, the shipping carton is large enough to be considered an Oversize 2 carton by FedEx, and ground freight charges for it are the same as if the carton weighed 70 lbs. The dimensional weight (the space the case takes up in an airplane) is 81 lbs., and it is this weight that will be used by FedEx when calculating air shipping charges. Please keep this excess freight charge in mind if is air shipment is desired.
