| This lightweight Meade metal dew shield is made of rugged 20-gauge welded-seam aluminum. The interior is painted flat black to absorb stray light for higher contrast. Its exterior is painted Meade blue to match the finish of all current and past Meade 14" Schmidt-Cassegrains. The durable powder-coated finish is baked on for long life and chip resistance. Nylon thumbscrews in heavy-duty metal inserts lock into the groove in the corrector plate rim to hold the dew cap onto the telescope optical tube and assure a secure fit. The shipping carton is large, but light. Air freight charges are based on the space a carton takes up in a plane, not the weight of the large hollow carton. Be prepared for a very large shipping charge equivalent to shipping a 54 pound package if you need this dew shield shipped by air.
