This is a premium three-lens fully multicoated air-spaced design apochromatic Barlow. It has blackened lens edges and internal antireflection threading that virtually eliminate internal reflections for high contrast images when observing bright targets, such as the Moon and planets. Its compact 3" length allows you to use it in star diagonals. A thumbscrew holds your eyepieces securely in place. There's a rubber grip ring for a firm hold while handling the Barlow while wearing gloves in cold weather. It's parfocal with all Celestron Ultima eyepieces, except the 35mm and 42mm. It is optically corrected for use with any eyepiece and scope combination.
