These six levers replace the round knobs that tighten the adjustable height leg clamps on the GM-8, G-9 and G-11 mounts. They allow you to apply more pressure to the clamps to lock the leg height securely in place, particularly in cold weather when wearing gloves. They also provide more torque for loosening the leg clamps at the end of a long night of observing. The handles are indexable. After tightening the levers for the first time, they might wind up projecting out from the legs at inconvenient angles that could snag clothing. If so, simply pull out on the spring-loaded levers and turn them until they are at a more convenient and less hostile angle. Let go of the levers and the spring loading will snap them back into place in the new orientation you have chosen. Thereafter, each time you tighten the levers, they will wind up in the same convenient position when tightened.
