| This aluminum eyepiece caddy for all Meade LXD German equatorial mounts and equatorially mounted scopes serves a double purpose. It keeps as many as two 2" eyepieces and five 1.25" eyepieces and your Autostar computer hand control close at hand so you can find them easily in the dark. It also helps you level your tripod when setting up your scope so that your computer can find celestial objects more easily. The LXD caddy is placed on top of your tripod so that the azimuth adjustment post on the tripod fits into the notched portion of the caddy. The mount’s equatorial head is placed on top of the caddy so that the azimuth adjustment post on the tripod fits between the azimuth adjustment knobs in the equatorial head. The threaded rod in the tripod is threaded into the hole in the equatorial head as normally to lock the head onto the tripod. The bubble level on the caddy can be used as a guide to help you level your tripod by adjusting the length of the tripod legs. The caddy has two 2" holes and five 1.25" holes to hold eyepieces. There are also two cutouts that are sized and shaped to hold the Autostar computer hand control. The hand control cutouts are located 180° away from each other so that a hand control holder is readily available no matter which side of the tripod you stand on to observe. The one pound two ounce caddy is made of heavy duty 2mm thick aluminum plate with a powder-coated and baked-on black finish that will last for years with no worries about corrosion.
