| The Celestron SkyScout Connect is an adapter that allows your SkyScout Personal Planetarium to control your Celestron computerized telescope. Once you’ve located or identified an object in the SkyScout database, a simple push of a button slews your telescope to that object so you can observe it at your leisure while your Celestron scope tracks the object flawlessly.
In addition, the SkyScout Connect adds GPS capabilities to any Celestron computerized scope that doesn’t already have GPS built in. It makes scope set-up and alignment on the sky even easier for those Celestron telescopes not already equipped with GPS.
The SkyScout Connect works with any Celestron SLT, NexStar SE, Advanced Series, CPC, and CGE telescope. It consists of a cradle with built-in electronics that holds your telescope’s NexStar hand control, as shown in the feature image below. The cradle is attached to your scope’s tripod leg by a supplied Velcro strap. Your NexStar hand control and SkyScout are hooked up to the SkyScout Connect cradle using the supplied cables. The NexStar hand control can be operated while mounted in the SkyScout Connect cradle or can be hand-held at the end of its coiled cord as normally.
If you do not have a recent version of the SkyScout, you will have to download the latest version of the SkyScout firmware (which contains the new SkyScout Connect control program) from this download location on the Celestron website.
