| This black anodized machined aluminum Vixen-Series Losmandy dovetail plate fits the 9.25" or 11" Celestron Schmidt-Cassegrain and the 7" Meade Maksutov or 10" Meade Schmidt-Cassegrain optical tubes only. The dovetail bolts to the existing mounting holes at the 12 o’clock and 6 o’clock positions in the front and rear cells of the optical tube, using the supplied hardware. Installation on an 11" Celestron OTA also requires optional adapter blocks #VCB if the side-by-side hole spacing on the optical tube is 1.75". Installed on the bottom of the optical tube, the Vixen-style dovetail on the plate allows you to mount your optical tube on a Vixen Polaris, Great Polaris, or Sphinx mount; a Celestron CG-5 or Advanced Series mount; an Orion Sirius or Atlas mount; a Meade LXD-75 mount; or any other mount having a Vixen-style saddle plate and enough payload capacity to hold the tube. Since the dovetail plate will mount on either the top or bottom of the optical tube, you can install a dovetail on the top of the optical tube for mounting Losmandy Vixen-Series accessories – piggybacks, photoguide rings, etc. Using the dovetail plate to hold accessories this way can be done with either a German equatorial mount or a fork mount scope. The dovetail plate measures 0.6" thick x 1.75" wide x 17.25" in length, with 16.0/16.50" hole spacing. It weighs 1.1 lbs. The corners of the dovetail are beveled with a radius curvature, rather than having a sharp 90° corner. This helps prevent the dovetail from hanging up in the mount’s saddle plate if the dovetail is inserted at a slight angle when setting up your scope.
