| This 6.3 ounce, 7.5" long die cast dovetail plate lets you mount an optical tube on a Vixen Great Polaris or Sphinx German equatorial mount. It can also be used with the Astro-Tech Voyager altazimuth mount, the Meade LXD-55 and LXD-75 mounts, as well as the Celestron CG-5 and Advanced Series go-to mounts. The plate measures 44mm (1.7") across the bottom of the dovetail, allowing it to fit into the 46mm (1.8") dovetail slot on the top of the mounts. The plate is finished in an off-white paint to match the finish of the Vixen Sphinx mount. It has two flat bosses at either end with 1/4"-20 thread holes on 6.25" centers for attaching tube rings to the dovetail. It also has two holes in the middle of the plate on 1-3/8" centers for direct mounting of spotting scopes, small refractors, and catadioptrics that have a photo tripod adapter block that uses a 1/4"-20 mounting hole. The slanted sides of the dovetail plate have a molded-in detent that engages with the tip of the large primary locking knob on the mount. A small safety knob on the side of the mount prevents the optical tube from sliding out of the mount should the large primary locking knob loosen during use.
