| This custom-machined 3.375" square base adapter plate for Feather Touch focusers has mounting holes in each corner and a curved underside that allow your focuser to be installed flush to a Newtonian reflector’s curved body. The mounting holes are drilled in a 2.75" square bolt hole pattern. Four brass leveling screws in the base will let you fine-tune the squaring-up and collimation of the focuser. The leveling screws have a specially-designed domed face so that they contact more of the wood or cardboard surface of the tube to prevent seating of the screws. The leveling screw holes in the base are drilled at an angle for improved contact between the screw face and the tube. Tube mounting hardware is included with the base. When ordering, please supply us with your telescope’s outside tube diameter so the curved base can be precisely machined to fit your tube’s curvature. For this figure, please measure the outside tube diameter across two perpendicular distances through the center line of the tube and average these two values. The black anodized aluminum adapter will be precision machined of to fit your specifications. Since this adapter is custom made to fit your specific optical tube only, it may take several weeks to fabricate the adapter, depending on the manufacturer’s production schedule. The adapter is non-returnable if the wrong tube o. d. is specified when ordering. The center of the adapter has a 2.75" diameter opening that accepts the body of any Feather Touch focuser. Your optical tube must have a 2-5/8" to 2-3/4" diameter hole to clear the focuser drawtube. Recessed setscrews in the adapter fit into a groove in the Feather Touch focuser body to lock the focuser in place.
