| This 17.25" dovetail plate attaches to the underside of a current vintage Celestron 9.25" Schmidt-Cassegrain optical tube, bolting to the tube’s front and rear cell. It lets you install the optical tube on a Celestron CGEM, CGEM DX, CGE, or CGE Pro mount. It will also work with a Losmandy G11 German equatorial mount and with current Losmandy GM-8 mounts that are equipped with the wider G11 saddle. The extruded and machined aluminum plate is anodized Celestron orange.
The plate has the standard 3" wide dovetail flanges underneath that fit into the Celestron and Losmandy dovetail saddles (the Losmandy D-plate standard). The top of the 4" wide plate is curved to fit the Celestron 9.25" optical tube. New longer hardware is supplied to bolt the plate to the optical tube after you remove the shorter screws in the tube – two hex-head machine screws in the rear cell and one in the front cell.
This dovetail is designed to fit recent C9.25 OTAs only. In July 2006, Celestron shortened the 9.25" OTA length, so this dovetail will be too short for 9.25" tubes made prior to this date. This is true for the carbon-fiber version of the C9.25 as well, since it is one of the longer OTAs.
