| This Celestron NexRemote software-only package allows Celestron Advanced Series GT, NexStar “i", NexStar SE, CPC, GPS, and CGE Series telescopes to be set up and operated remotely from a PC or laptop. NexRemote duplicates all of the functions and features of the NexStar software in the standard NexStar Hand Control plus much more. NexRemote software is supplied with all current Advanced, NexStar SE, CPC, and CGE telescopes. It is available here for earlier versions of these scopes, plus older NexStar “I" and GPS scopes, which were not so equipped. The NexRemote provides full emulation of every function of the Celestron NexStar computerized hand control. These include alignment in any tracking mode, a database of celestial objects, the ability to store your own personal favorite objects that are not part of the standard database (as well as the coordinates of transient objects, such as comets), a hibernation mode, and the ability to connect to popular planetarium programs. In addition to emulating the NexStar Hand Control on your computer screen, NexRemote adds powerful new features. You get a synthesized voice output through your computer’s speakers so that you can keep your eyes on the stars instead of the hand control’s LCD by enabling speech support. You can control the objects you want to see and the order in which you see the. You can create and save custom sky tours by using the NexTour feature. You can use a Night Vision Mode to keep the light of your laptop screen from affecting your dark-adapted vision. You can connect your personal GPS device to NexRemote with the NexGPS program. You can also download NexRemote updates online to use new features as they are introduced. You can add wireless control of your telescope with optional gamepad support. When gamepad support is enabled, NexRemote uses an optional compatible gamepad as a means of remotely controlling the telescope operation. This is particularly useful when aligning the telescope with NexRemote and the PC is not within reach. Some compatible gamepads include the Logitech Wingman Cordless Rumblepad, the Logitech Cordless Rumblepad 2, the Logitech Wingman Rumblepad USB, and the Saitek P3000 Wireless Pad. However, virtually any gamepad can be configured to work with NexRemote. Help files in the software provide extensive details.
