| This heavy-duty quick release finderscope bracket has a dovetail mounting shoe with long slots to fit the varying spacing of the finderscope mounting holes on the rear cell of 8" and larger Celestron and Meade Schmidt-Cassegrain and Maksutov-Cassegrain telescopes. The bracket can be used on other telescopes, such as reflectors, if you are willing to drill mounting holes in the telescope tube to hold the mounting shoe. The bracket’s dual finder rings are precisely machined (not flimsily die cast, as with lesser brackets) and have a 63mm internal diameter. The bracket comes with six short metal collimation bolts (three per ring) for use with 50mm finderscopes only. Two finger-tighten bolts lock the quick release rings securely in place in the mounting shoe. This allows the finder to be quickly removed so your telescope can be stored in its carrying case. The long machined dovetail surfaces assure that the finder will be accurately collimated when it is reinstalled as the scope is being set up again. The bracket comes with two hex head bolts to mount it on Celestron rear cells. Other brands of scopes may require different user-supplied hardware. Mounting on a reflector will require user-supplied nuts, bolts, and washers.
