| All telescope, camera, and eyepiece optics need a little TLC from time to time. Here are the essential tools you need for removing dirt and oily fingerprint residue from accidental careless handling of binocular lenses, telescope eyepieces, cameras, finder scopes, and other small optical components. This kit from Zeiss will keep your optics in tip-top shape. This Zeiss Portable Lens Care System for small optics contains all of these items in one convenient package:
1.-A “lipstick" style optics brush. The bristles of this soft camel’s hair brush gently remove coarse dust and dirt particles without scratching your optical coatings. The brush looks like a lipstick container. Remove the cap, turn the bottom of the brush, and the soft bristles extend for use. Turn the bottom of the brush the other way and they retract to stay protected until the next time you need them.
2.- Ten individually wrapped Zeiss lens cleaning tissues, pre-moistened with Zeiss #ZLC lens cleaning fluid for use in the field. When you run out, simply order more #ZLCT lens cleaning tissues from this website.
3.- A 0.5 ounce spray bottle of Zeiss #ZLC optics cleaning fluid. This safely removes grime and oily residues. When you run out (which will take a long time as it only requires a few sprays at a time to clean your optics), large 2.8 ounce replacement spray bottles of #ZLC lens cleaning fluid are readily available on this website.
4.- A lint-free polyester and nylon microfiber cleaning cloth. Great for quick removal or grease and fingerprint smudges from lenses, its microfibers pick up tons of dirt.
5.- Eight double-ended small cotton swabs. They are ideal for cleaning small lenses and around lens and eyepiece edges. We don’t need to tell you that you can easily replace them at any drugstore when these are gone.
All of these components are packed (with instructions on their use) in a zippered Cordura-style case with a belt loop for no-hands carrying where they will always be available for dirty-optics emergencies in the field.
