| This Motofocus consists of a miniature variable speed DC motor, a mounting bracket, a rubber O-ring drive belt (with a spare) that turns the Celestron focus knob, a hand control, and a coiled power cord. The motor’s mounting bracket slips over telescope’s rear cell threads and is held in place by the scope’s 1.25" eyepiece holder, which threads onto the rear cell. A rubber O-ring is stretched to loop around the Motofocus drive wheel and the telescope focus knob. The coiled cord connects the motor and the supplied hand control box. The control box contains a 9-volt battery that will power the focuser for 6 to 8 months of normal use. Pushbuttons on the hand box control the direction of focuser travel, and a variable rate control adjusts the focusing speed. The O-ring that loops around the motor drive wheel and scope focus knob transmits the rotation of the Motofocus drive wheel to the telescope focus knob to adjust the scope focus. The O-ring also acts as a slip clutch to prevent damage if the normal telescope focuser travel is exceeded. The telescope slow motion knob can still be used for manual focusing without removing the motor, with or without the O-ring in place. The motor can be left in place when your scope is not in use.
