Astrophotography: A very complete and authoritative handbook by Barry Gordon, the Instructor in Astrophotography at the Hayden Planetarium, New York City. Indispensable for the Schmidt-Cassegrain photographer, as well as those with refractors and reflectors. Covers exposure times, image size, eyepiece projection systems, piggyback photography, guiding techniques, allowable drift during guiding, and more. Its innovative fx exposure system makes determining the correct solar system and deep space exposure simply a matter of adding together a few numbers representing the film speed, the telescope focal ratio or aperture, and the fx value of the object being photographed (there are dozens of fx values in the many charts in the book). Revised 1985 second edition from Willmann-Bell contains 75 black and white photos (all taken by amateurs using commercially available scopes to show the results you can expect), 32 tables, and 7 line drawings. 206 softbound 6" x 9" pages.
