| When the Vixen MT-1 motor drive is attached to a Great Polaris mount, it replaces one manual slow motion control knob. Since the MT-1 drive motor has a direct brass gear to brass gear connection to the drive shaft, manual slow motion control of the mount for centering of objects is lost. If manual slow motion control is needed, it can be added by using this #VMC manual clutch. One #VMC is needed for each axis if slow motion control is needed for both right ascension and declination. The all-brass #VMC is installed in the gear system, between the scope drive shaft and the #MT-1 drive. The manual slow motion control knob supplied with the mount is attached to the drive shaft on the opposite side of the mount from the #MT-1. Loosening a knob on the #VMC disengages the motor temporarily so you can use the manual slow motion control to center the scope as needed. Once the object is centered, tightening the #VMC knob engages the motor again. The #VMC can be left in place permanently.
