The Orion Starry Night Sky Explorer is a very capable (and very inexpensive) basic first step into exploring the night sky on your PC or Mac computer. Starry Night Sky Explorer lets you view the night sky from your back yard or anywhere on earth. You can explore the mysteries of the universe through the program’s SkyGuide – a multimedia interactive tour of the heavens. You can learn to easily identify and locate planets, stars, and constellations. SkyGuide will let you explore the 100,000 stars that are visible to the naked eye and a small telescope. It will let you astound your friends with hundreds of fun space facts. You can use it to plan your observing sessions and print out star charts on your computer to take out with your binocular or telescope to explore with your own eyes the objects the program shows you. You can travel back in time to see the stars the day you were born, stay current with automatic online updates, and much more.

Computer system requirements . . . Windows XP (not Vista-compatible) with a 500 MHz or faster processor, or Macintosh OS-X 10.3 or higher with a G3 450 MHz or faster processor; CD-ROM drive; 128 MB RAM minimum with 500 MB of free disc space. OpenGL support requires a 32MB OpenGL-capable graphics card. Minimum recommended monitor resolution is 1024 x 768 pixels.
