| This is an excellent medium power 1.25" wide field eyepiece. The calculator below will let you see just how wide the field will be with your particular scope. For example, it will give you about a 1.19° field at 57x with a 10" f/4.5 Dobsonian. This will give you about four minutes and forty-five seconds with such a scope to observe an object as it drifts from one side of the eyepiece’s flat field to the other. That’s plenty of time for multiple observers to look at the object or for you to absorb as much detail as possible before having to reposition your scope. While it’s particularly well-suited for use with Dobsonian reflectors, it can provide “picture window onto space" images with any telescope type. It works very nicely on objects such as M57, the Ring Nebula, with an 8" Schmidt-Cassegrain. Eye relief is a respectable 15mm, so observers who must wear eyeglasses when observing will see an almost unvignetted field of view. Most serious deep space observers will enjoy the “big picture" performance of the 20mm Super Wide.
