This hard plastic dewcap threads into the objective lens cell of all Meade ETX-90 Maksutov-Cassegrain telescopes and spotting scopes. It slows the formation of dew on the lens surface in climates prone to high nighttime moisture in the air. It also improves astronomical visual and photographic contrast from city observing sites by blocking neighboring lights. The #673 also gives a considerable improvement in contrast during daytime visual terrestrial observing with astro telescopes and spotting scopes alike. It is strongly recommended for terrestrial photography with the ETX-90 spotting scope. The #673 is tapered slightly outwards from a 4-3/8" diameter to 4-5/8" to reduce the possibility of vignetting. 4" overall length. The #673 can be unthreaded from the scope front cell and put on the optical tube backwards, slipping over the telescope barrel for storage when the scope is in its optional hard case.
