| The British magazine Bird Watching named the Leica 10 x 25mm “Compact Binocular of the Year" at the annual British Birdwatching Fair a few years back. The magazine said “superb optical performance – natural colour rendition, sharp and bright image and good field of view – coupled with impressive build quality, tipped the balance in favour of these German-made mighty midgets. The double hinge means this model can be folded after use and carried in a very small pocket indeed." This internal center focus H-body roof prism “mini" is showerproof and dustproof for use in all climates and in temperatures from -12° to +130° Fahrenheit. The double hinge design lets it fold to a compact size that easily slips into purse or coat pocket. The 10 x 25mm BCA is encased in a black polyurethane armor that provides protection for the optics, as well as a more comfortable grip in cold or inclement weather. A soft leather case is supplied for storage or while traveling. Pop-up rubber-rimmed eyecups retract into the binocular body for eyeglass use, rather than rolling down. This eliminates the chance of eyecups drying out and cracking with age as rolldown eyecups can. This Leica uses superb small aperture optics for casual daytime birding and for use when traveling, hiking, biking, or at the theater – wherever and whenever light weight and a small size are more important than big light-gathering. The new P40 phase-correcting roof prism coatings provide a resolution and sharpness surprisingly good for small aperture optics, but the superior performance is only to be expected considering Leica’s long-standing and well-deserved reputation for optical excellence.
