| This water-shedding forest green Cordura nylon stay-on Leica case is shaped to hold the straight-through viewing 62mm Leica Televid spotting scope only. The case can be left on the scope while the scope is mounted on a tripod and being used for observing and photography. The case adds an extra measure of weatherproofing to the scope and protects it from damage if the scope is stored in a car trunk while traveling. It also keeps the scope body and optics from being scratched by tree branches when walking through wooded areas with the scope and tripod on your shoulder. Cordura eyepiece and objective lens covers are tethered to the ends of the case by means of straps that snap onto fittings on the underside of the case. The tethers keep the covers from being lost in the field, but allow the covers to be completely detached from the scope case at any time. When the scope is not in use, Velcro tabs hold the covers in place to protect the scope optics, while still allowing fast access to those optics for observing. Undoing the Velcro tabs lets the covers hang down on their tethers out of the way beneath the scope body while you observe. A woven carrying handle and neoprene-padded shoulder strap allows the scope to be carried when not mounted on a tripod. To keep it out of the way when observing, the shoulder strap can be removed from the case when the scope is mounted on a tripod.
