| This 35.4" long padded tripod bag can be used with many tripod/pan head combinations, such as the Manfrotto #3170, #3175, #3178N, and #3180N. The bag’s asymmetric tapered shape allows it to hold the tripod and pan head with a medium size 60-65mm aperture refractor spotting scope attached. (For carrying the tripod and head only, without an attached scope, use the 31.5" long #BAG80P for the #3178N and #3180N, and the 25" long bag #3279 for the #3170N and #3175N.) The tripod legs fit comfortably in the narrower end of the bag (20cm - 7.87" diameter) and extra space is allowed for the larger volume of the head at the wider end (23cm - 9" diameter). The tapered shape also means it’s easier to put the tripod and head in the bag, even if the head levers and knobs are attached and jut out slightly. The case has a zippered closure that extends down the length of the bag, but also fully opens the top end of the bag. This makes it easier to get your tripod in and out of the bag quickly. The bag has an inner pocket that holds accessories (such as pan head handles) where they won’t rattle around or get damaged. The bag is made of durable three-layer ballistic nylon – an outer layer of waterproof heavy gauge 1680 denier nylon, a middle padding layer of thermoformed high density polyethylene closed cell foam, and an inner layer of non-snagging 420 denier polyurethane coated nylon. The zips and other materials used are of top quality. The bag can be hand-carried horizontally by the side handle, vertically by the end handle (which is also useful for storage), or shoulder-carried using the included strap.
