| Occasionally there are birding situations when you could use a spotting scope’s magnification, but you didn’t have the space, strength, or foresight to bring along your tripod and spotting scope. This fully-multicoated 2.5x Elite Universal Doubler monocular power booster solves that problem. While not intended as a substitute for a separate top-quality spotting scope, the Elite Doubler is perfect for occasional very high power observing when a dedicated spotting scope is not available. The Bushnell Elite Doubler temporarily converts one side of a Bushnell Elite, Discoverer, Legend, Excursion, or similar binocular with twist-up eyecups into a high power spotting scope. It will work with many non-Bushnell binoculars, as well, as long as they are 32mm in aperture and larger and have 42mm o. d. twist-up eyecups. The Elite Doubler attaches to one side of the host binocular via friction fit, with no tools required. It pops on and off in seconds, allowing you to switch between binocular and spotting scope modes at will. Focusing is done normally with the binocular’s center focus knob. Using the Elite Doubler, an 8x binocular becomes a 20x spotting scope, a 10x binocular becomes a 25x scope, etc. With a weight of only four ounces, it’s easy to carry this valuable accessory in the field. It comes with a hard leather case that attaches to your binocular neck strap for hands-free carrying. You probably won’t even realize you’re carrying it until the need for a spotting scope suddenly pops up and you have the answer at your fingertips. A lightweight neckstrap is also provided for the Elite Doubler, so you don’t have to recase it when it is not in use, keeping it close to hand at all times. The Elite Doubler has a three-stage twist-up rubber-rimmed eyecup for eyeglass use. Eye relief is a long 20mm for unvignetted views when using eyeglasses. The optics are O-ring sealed for moisture protection, making it waterproof. Protective dust covers for both ends of the Doubler are standard. The Elite Doubler uses the same Bushnell XTR-technology full multicoatings and PC-3 phase coatings on its BaK-4 roof prisms as Bushnell’s top-of-the-line Elite binoculars, so it shares the same optical quality as these world-class binoculars. In addition, the optics are treated with famous Bushnell “Rainguard" lens coatings that keep rain and moisture from beading up on the eye lens for clearer images in wet weather.
