For Canon EOS 35mm autofocus single lens reflex and DSLR cameras only. Not for older breechlock lens mount Canons, such as the AE-1, that have a knurled rotary collar around the base of the lens that has to be tightened to lock the lens in place.

Needed to connect your 35mm Canon EOS SLR or DSLR camera body to a T-adapter or camera adapter for prime focus photography (full disc solar/lunar photography and terrestrial photography); to a tele-extender or camera adapter for eyepiece projection photography (planetary photography and close-up shots of the Moon); and to an off-axis guider for long exposure deep space photography.
