Product Description
The Astro-Tech 6mm High Grade Plössl eyepiece is one of the most economically-priced high power high quality Plössl eyepieces available. Despite its low price, it sacrifices nothing in performance.
The Astro-Tech 6mm Plössl is designed for high magnification lunar and planetary observing and for splitting close binary stars. It will work well with any type of telescope, from a fast focal ratio reflector to a long focal length achromatic refractor. The 55° field of view of this Astro-Tech is surprisingly wide when compared with other Plössls in this focal length range.
The useable eye relief is very short and will severely vignette the field of view for eyeglass wearers. We can't recommend this eyepiece for those who must wear glasses while observing.

Nice eyepiece for planetary viewing on my Meade 10" sct. I look forward to viewing some small faint galaxies (Posted on 7/22/2019)

I have four of the eyepieces from this line: the 4mm, 6mm, 12.5mm, and the 20mm. What has impressed me about the 4, 6, and 12.5mm versions is how well they suppress light scatter. I use them on tight double stars, and have constantly turned to one of those three eyepieces in situations where there was a lot of glare -- more than once I've been able to detect a faint secondary with one of them when I couldn't see it an Ortho or another brand of Plössl.
The 20mm is an excellent wide field, low power eyepiece that rivals the TV 20mm Plössl for clarity, and the extra five degree field of view comes in rather handy as well. Don't let the price mislead you -- these are excellent eyepieces for double star and deep sky work.
