Product Description

The Celestron 9x50 Right Angle Correct Image (RACI) Illuminated Finder is a great upgrade to the stock finderscopes found on many Schmidt-Cassegrain telescopes. The 50 mm optics produce bright, sharp images with a magnification of 9X and a 5º apparent field of view. Meanwhile, the right-angle, correct-image design keeps objects right-side up and left-to-right correct, making it easier to locate objects as well as track them as they drift through the field of view. The eyepiece module can be rotated left or right so you can find the perfect viewing angle.

The double-crosshair reticle etched in the eyepiece makes it easy to center an object, whether you are aligning your computerized telescope or finding deep-sky objects on your own. The reticle can be focused separate from the finder itself. A battery-powered illuminator lights up the crosshair with a soft, red glow, and the illumination can be easily adjusted by turning the on/off knob.

The Celestron 9x50 RACI Finder comes with a sturdy bracket consisting of two rings and an integrated dovetail. Adjusting the alignment of the finder is easy with the oversized thumbscrews. The dovetail allows for easy attachment to and removal from most Schmidt-Cassegrain and EdgeHD optical tube assemblies without affecting the alignment of the finderscope.

I saw mine and saw that it sets down low on my scope. It fits on the Celestron hole patterns for a finder scope. Once adjusted it stays on target. I put mine on my C6-N reflector I had refigured. It does what it says it will do. It works fine and the reticle lights up perfectly. It magnifies the target area very well too. (Posted on 4/26/2023)

Replaced the straight through finder on an old Edmund Scientific 6" reflector purchased in 1974 that I hardly used now due to arthritis preventing craning my neck. I can now use it again and find myself choosing it over my other scopes when I just want to wander the skies. Since adding it to the telescope, have installed a new 6" f/8 mirror since the originals reflective surface has gotten very weak due to its age. Very satisfied with the finder and anyone would probably appreciate it on most scopes you can mount it on that need an upgrade that is very affordable. (Posted on 10/21/2021)

I upgraded my CPC 925 Edge HDs stock finder with this illuminated, 90-degree, correct image finder for a couple of reasons - when I'm looking high toward the apex, I hate getting on my knees to look through the standard finder. The 90-degree feature on this one solves that problem - and the 90 viewer is also adjustable to either side for better viewing near the horizon. The main reason I got this, though was the double crosshair illuminated reticle. It doesn't hide what I'm trying to find! Rather than one vertical and one horizontal line, this finder has two parallel lines on each axis - just put your target between the lines and you're golden! Lighting, red of course, is easily adjustable and the batteries lasted over a year of use - and I use my scope nightly all through the summer and a LOT other times. Just remember to turn them off when you finish!
This is a great upgrade and I recommend it without reservation. (Posted on 10/31/2019)
