Bought the 12x60 Celestron Skymaster binoculars recently. I also own the 15x70 version so I have a similar item to compare. Overall, for the money, I feel these are good binoculars but not great. As mentioned by a previous reviewer, it takes a bit of effort to get a clear focus — more so than with other binoculars. I’ve had to use the focus wheel and the diopter in tandem a few times to re-focus when starting a new stargazing session. I notice a straight-on view renders a pretty crisp image of a star but the loss of clarity is obvious when moving a bit off-center. The 15x70’s hold a much wider view of clarity. Still, in somewhat light-polluted skies, I have seen numerous magnitude 7+ stars with the 12x60’s and have gotten nice views of such bright stars as Rigel at night and Antares rising, pre-dawn. The 12x60’s are also quite lightweight and, “feel” good in the hands — somewhat compact for the magnification and diameter. To be more specific, I’d give a 3.75 out of 5 stars. (Posted on 1/4/2020)

I own these. They suck. My pair was not collimated between the eyes so I got two distinct pictures instead of them melding into one. You have to hunt for the adjustment screws. When I did find the adjustment screws, the glue holding the rubber grip came loose. I was finally able to adjust them properly after much rear-end pain. But now the rubber grips are falling off.

There are much better binos out there. Don't go this cheap. (Posted on 1/2/2019)

This was the first pair of binoculars I purchased. In fact it was the first astronomy equipment purchase I ever made. Overall the quality of the view the binoculars provide is excellent for the price. For those looking for crisp sharp views this may fall short and I would recommend investing a bit more. Also, achieving good focus can sometimes be difficult. However, once you have the focus locked in you won't be disappointed. I've used these to view Orion's Nebula and Andromeda. I've even caught a glimpse of M81 and M82 in a dark sky site. (Posted on 11/15/2018)
