This 7" long Losmandy universal dovetail plate fits the 46mm dovetail slot of the Vixen-style saddle used on current Vixen and Vixen-style German equatorial mounts (Vixen Great Polaris, Sphinx, or Porta mounts; Celestron CG-5, Advanced Series, and Advanced VX mounts; and the Meade LXD-75 mount). It is designed primarily to hold the mounting rings of small to medium size Astro-Tech, TMB, TeleVue, Orion, Takahashi, and Meade refractors, plus those of 6" aperture and smaller Meade and Celestron catadioptric optical tubes.
The dovetail has a series of 12 threaded and unthreaded mounting holes and two 0.25" wide x 1.675" long slots for installing a wide variety of mounting rings. This link will take you to a drawing of the mounting hole pattern and spacing. The slots and holes are countersunk on the underside of the dovetail. This assures that the bolts holding the mounting rings will not protrude and keep the dovetail plate from sliding back and forth in the mount saddle for balancing. The 0.625" thick dovetail is precision-machined of aluminum stock. It measures 7" long x 1.7" wide overall and is anodized black for good looks and durability. It weighs 11 ounces.
