Product Description

This is a good quality fully-multicoated low power eyepiece at a price that's substantially lower than competitive Plössls. Its 50 degree apparent field of view is designed for expansive views of emission and reflection nebulas, for observing open clusters like the Pleiades, and for sweeping nebular remnants like the Veil. It will work well with any telescope type, at any focal ratio, under any seeing conditions. It provides a 7.11mm exit pupil with f/4.5 Dobsonians, and so is the longest focal length practical with such scopes. With a Dobsonian, its wide field of view makes it easier to locate objects than the normally supplied 25mm or 26mm eyepiece and allows 33% more time than a 25mm to observe before an object drifts out of the field of view and the scope has to be repositioned to observe it again. A soft rubber eyecup shields the eye from ambient light and folds down for more comfortable eyeglass use. A knurled rubber ring on the titanium-colored barrel provides a secure grip when changing eyepieces in cold weather. Plastic caps are supplied to keep both ends of the eyepiece dust free.

The eyepiece is a snug fit in optional eyepiece case #EPA and works best in this case with the eyepiece's rubber eyecup folded down. As a second choice, optional eyepiece case #EPB will work with the rubber eyecup extended, but the 52mm diameter case is somewhat wider than needed for a snug fit with the 41mm diameter eyepiece.

Great wide field eyepieces. Very comfortable eye relief. . Works well in both my f/9 and f/4.7 Newtonian This is one of my most used eyepieces. (Posted on 11/2/2019)

I actually purchased an unbranded version of one of these used from a vendor, but it came in an authentic Celestron box, so I think I got the real thing (or an older version of it) for a bargain. I haven't had a clear night to take it out in, but I am excited to try it out on a Criterion RV-6 my son-in-law just picked up for me. The scope will be delivered tomorrow, and I am stoked to try this eyepiece on it. (Posted on 10/25/2019)

The 32mm Plossl is often recommended as a first "upgrade eyepiece" and for good reason. It provides the widest fov possible in a 1.25 inch focuser at a great price point. Celestron's Omni is sharp the edges in all my scopes, from f/5 to f/14. Neat little piece of glass that I thought I would upgrade away from, but has continued to find itself useful night after night. In my humble opinion using a Plossl is the only way to view low power in any scope. You get the best clarity and clean views to the edge of view. This eyepiece is excellent and I couldn't ask for anything better for low power viewing. Have to love Plossls and the simplicity and clarity they provide. Best band for your hard earned dollars. The Celestron 32 mm Plossl is my low-power wide-view eyepiece of choice. I use this with my 102mm refractor to obtain excellent views of the Pleiades and the coat hanger asterism. (Posted on 10/4/2019)

I got this to supplement the 10mm and 25mm that came with my XT6. Does a great job on providing nice wide field views and doesn't break the bank! I really like the grip on the side as well and it seems to be a well built eyepiece! (Posted on 7/23/2019)

I bought an 8" SCT and wanted a wide field eyepiece for checking out DSO's. This fit the bill without breaking the bank! Sharp, clear views. Just what I needed!! (Posted on 7/22/2019)

My Celestron 32 mm Plossl is my low power wide view eyepiece for my scopes that only accept 1.25" eyepieces. This give me about the widest view that I can get in my Meade ETX 80, ETX 125 and Orion SkyScanner 100. I have also used it in my Orion XT8i and Apertura AD12 when I have forgotten to bring the 2" eyepieces. Works great in all of them. Highly recommended. (Posted on 7/22/2019)

Just received this and popped it into my Celestron 6" SCT. Compared it side by side to the 25mm plossl that came with the scope, in a daytime view of some distant trees. Just as I had hoped, this 32mm eyepiece provided a lower-power and larger TFoV; useful for lining up the scope for higher-power looks with my other eyepieces. Glad I bought it. (Posted on 12/20/2018)
