This 0.8X reducer/field flattener assembly converts the 600mm focal length f/7 TeleVue TV-85 refractor into a 480mm f/5.6 telephoto lens for faster astronomical and terrestrial photography. It also converts the 480mm f/6.8 TeleVue Pronto into a 380mm f/5.4 lens, and can be used for a similar purpose with any other manufacturer's 400mm to 600mm focal length refractor that has a 2" focuser. In addition to reducing the focal length of the telescope and thereby increasing the photographic speed, the system flattens the normal field curvature inherent in all refractors to provide images that are sharply focused out to the very corners of the 35mm frame. Stars look sharp and point-like all the way across the field. You don't have to worry about photos that are sharp in the center and blurry at the edges.
The fully multi-coated 3-lens assembly inserts directly into a 2" focuser and accepts a standard T-ring for connecting a 35mm camera. A review in Sky & Telescope said, "This accessory is a must-have for someone planning to use the TV-85 photographically."
