This Astrozap lightweight 20-gauge aluminum dew shield is lined with black felt to absorb both moisture and light. Nylon thumbscrews in heavy-duty metal inserts hold the dew shield onto the telescope optical tube. The exterior is texture black to match the finish of most Celestron 9.25" Schmidt-Cassegrains.

I use this for a C9.25 carbon fiber. It came with the scope as an included accessory (used) and It has been used for every imaging session. Its long and light and has black material lining the interior to absorb stray light. I am aware of every ounce on my atlas mount for astrophotography, and this was worth every penny. You will need the dew cap by the way as the lens cap for the 9.25 wont fit it. If you're into AP this will keep things nice and dark. another nice touch was that since its aluminum and the OTA has screws along the corrector holder, you always know when its on straight, unlike the soft shields. Buy one if you're imaging with a cassegrain. the best shield I've ever used. 5 Stars (Posted on 10/28/2018)
